Would you like to experience
dynamic life energy?
Biodynamic
wines are the one of the healthiest on the market today.
Even though it's the oldest
system of organic agriculture, its nutritional value is
still the best.
What does biodynamic
mean? The name comes from the Greek word
"bio", which means
life-energy.
Biodynamic
is a technique utilized in farming that depends on the
vineyard's natural resources to develop the soil for the
highest quality grapes possible without the use of any
pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers or
growth stimulants.
Not only do biodynamic
farmers rely on natural soils, they also place an emphasis
on the moon and sun's location throughout the season. The
location of the stars and other natural occurrences must also
be cautiously planned in each step during the vinification and
growing seasons. Biodynamic
winemakers take into account all the essentials that
affect both the vines and the wine.
How about Organic Wines?
The magnificent taste of the Biodynamic
wine is very similar to organic
wine. What exactly is organic
wine? It's defined as wine made from organically grown
grapes. Essentially the importance of the soil is to be
healthy and active and that the grape is grown without any
chemical fertilizers or insecticides that could harm or damage
the soil.
It means organic
wine growers use only natural fertilizers, such as
composted animal byproducts, and cover crops to protect the
grape rather than chemical fertilizers and herbicides.
Organic farmers encourage biodiversity and permit
other plants rather than vines to grow in and around the
vineyard. Biodiversity helps adapt the vineyards
soil by attracting the right kind insects, spiders and
mites, as well as provide shelter and food, as this replaces
the need for harmful chemical pesticides or insecticides.
What's not controlled through biodiversity can still be
controlled organically, utilizing the natural occurrence from
the plant or mineral extracts, which leave no residues in the
soil.
Many consumers are not aware that grapes
are one of the most immensely sprayed crops. When the
grapes are sprayed with the pesticides it sticks to the skin
of the grape to protect the grape from diseases. Yet the
residue from the pesticide ends up in the wine
as they are pressed and put in a vat. In addition there are
also systemic pesticides which can penetrate a grape plant and
end up in the pulp of the plant. Yet, again it ends up in the
residue of the wine. Many of these chemicals are suspected
carcinogens that are known for causing cancer and many other
illnesses.
